About Our Chandan
Chandan was a gentle, pure, and brave soul, loved by all. During his Vidyapith life he was very active in sports- a champion footballer. He was the 'Fire Drill Commander' of the batch. He is fondly remembered for his glasses which could be used as a magnifying glass leading to some fun times. He was a fun-loving, ever-smiling person, always ready to help everyone.
His Professional Contributions
Chandan joined New Delhi-based Climate Connect in 2013 as an economist and quickly rose the ranks to boast a handful of job titles and crucial responsibilities, including lead economist, carbon product head, director of strategic business units, and Chief Operating Officer. He led a team of machine learning engineers and analysts whose forecasting algorithms helped manage over 40 GW of power distribution assets and over 6.5 GW of renewable energy generation. His professional accomplishments are unmatched for his age.
The Loss
The second wave of COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc globally. Our Vidyapith Praktani community has also suffered irreparable losses due to the pandemic. We lost Shri Chandan Kumar, one of the precious gems of the RKMV Deoghar batch of 2005(10th) and 2007(12th).
He will continue to inspire
The sudden turn of events devastated family and friends alike who couldn't accept the sad reality then and even today, the void created by his untimely departure to the heavenly abode remains in the hearts of everyone. After due deliberation with his immediate family, his brothers from the RKMV decided to keep the memories alive and consensually agreed upon having a scholarship for a meritorious brother studying at RKMV with financial needs. The batch had multiple sessions of online and offline deliberations to chalk out an objective and rational framework for scholarship.
Details of the Scholarship

Shri Chandan Kumar Inspire Scholarship. It is intended to inspire needy students of R.K.Mission Vidyapith, Deoghar, to go beyond the limitations enforced by challenging financial and social conditions and excel to contribute towards betterment of everyone as envisioned by Swami Vivekananda.

INR 25,000 per year.
Scholarship is backed by a Corpus of INR 5,21,000 that has been pooled through a crowdfunding initiative in which Late Chandan’s RKMV batchmates from school as well as some good Samaritans chipped in for the noble cause. The amount of INR 5,21,000 has been transferred to the Praktani EC and a corpus has been created in the form of a Fixed Deposit with the bank.
EC will report this scholarship in their annual report.

RKMV Praktani EC will administer the scholarship. An amount of INR 25,000 will be transferred by Praktani EC to Vidyapith, before 26th January, each year.

Vidyapith Secretary may use his discretion in disbursing the scholarship to needy Vidyapith student(s). The fund shall not be used for any purposes other than the need-based scholarship so defined.
